BoxLunch is set to open a new store at The Promenade Shops Centerra in Loveland by spring 2027, joining eight other new tenants as the shopping center's owner pushes through a multimillion-dollar makeover. No firm opening date has been announced, but the pop-culture retailer is already hiring for the upcoming location, posting openings for a store manager, sales associates and seasonal employees.
The Loveland store, listed on the company's hiring site as BoxLunch 4842 – Promenade Shops at Centerra, is one of nine new leases signed by property owner Galway Companies during its first year owning the center, totaling 37,643 square feet, according to WhatNow. Galway acquired the 494,500-square-foot open-air shopping, dining and entertainment destination for $55 million in August 2025, and the new leasing push is being framed as part of an effort to refresh the property with new retail and dining options.
What's Coming With BoxLunch
BoxLunch sells pop-culture merchandise including apparel, accessories, home goods, gifts, novelty items and collectibles, with ties to franchises like Disney, Marvel, Harry Potter and anime titles, plus exclusive merchandise and collaborations not found elsewhere. The chain also partners with Feeding America, saying every $10 spent helps provide a meal secured on behalf of local food banks. Colorado already has BoxLunch locations in Colorado Springs, Pueblo and other shopping centers around the state, and the Loveland store would add another option in Northern Colorado.
The Loveland location is one of several BoxLunch openings reported around the country. The retailer was reported to be planning an opening at Flagstaff Mall in Arizona, according to the Arizona Daily Sun, and a planned location at Meridian Mall in Okemos, Michigan, per the Lansing State Journal.
A Center-Wide Reinvestment
BoxLunch's arrival is part of a much larger overhaul at the Loveland property. The center's property-wide reinvestment includes new storefronts, landscaping, lighting, outdoor gathering spaces, signage and a redesigned ice rink, which is scheduled to open in late November. The broader streetscape renovation is expected to wrap up in spring 2027, the same window targeted for BoxLunch's opening.
The renovation also includes improvements to walking areas, outdoor spaces, Wi-Fi and roofing, with new roofs set to be installed on 10 buildings across the center, the Reporter-Herald reports. Galway is pursuing a repositioning strategy for the property.
A Tight Retail Market
The investment comes as Northern Colorado's retail vacancy rate sits at just 3.1% in the first half of 2026, down 50 basis points year over year, a sign of how tight the local retail market has become. The Promenade Shops Centerra reportedly draws about 3.8 million visits annually and logged $109 million in tenant sales between September 2025 and September 2026, figures that help explain why Galway has moved quickly to fill vacancies and upgrade the property since its $55 million purchase.
