Bricktown Brewery is bringing its beer and comfort food to the Northwest Expressway corridor, with the Oklahoma City-born chain announcing a new restaurant at 3500 Northwest Expressway. The location will mark another expansion point for a brand that has grown well beyond its original downtown roots, and it's kicking things off with a charity-driven soft opening in a couple of weeks.
According to KOKH, Bricktown Brewery will host a ticketed soft-opening event at the new Northwest Expressway spot on Nov. 6 and 7. All proceeds from ticket sales during the two-day event will go to Folds of Honor, the nonprofit that provides scholarships to spouses and children of fallen or disabled service members. The station reports that 100% of ticket sales will be donated to the organization.
Tim Hallcroft, general manager of the new Northwest Expressway location, said the soft opening is designed to do a little bit of everything at once. Per the station's report, Hallcroft said the event will introduce the restaurant, bring people together, showcase the brand and support Folds of Honor.
A Brand Built in Bricktown, Now Spreading Across the Metro
Bricktown Brewery traces its roots back to 1992, when it got its start in Oklahoma City's historic Bricktown district, according to the Chatham Star-Tribune. Since that first location, the brand has expanded into a regional operation, now running in five states, per the Edmond Outlook. Within the Oklahoma City metro alone, the chain has grown to seven locations, with the Northwest Expressway restaurant representing an eighth stop in the area, the outlet notes.
The expansion has been especially active closer to home. Bricktown Brewery opened a restaurant on NW 192nd Street in West Edmond, located at 1000 NW 192nd Street, the Edmond Outlook reported. The chain also pushed into new territory on the East Coast, cutting the ribbon on a Danville, Virginia, location at 3585 Riverside Drive in 2022 — its first East Coast location, according to the Chatham Star-Tribune.
What's on the Menu
While a confirmed menu for the Northwest Expressway restaurant hasn't been detailed, Bricktown Brewery's broader offerings give a sense of what regulars can expect. The chain offers five core beers year-round along with seasonal brews, the Edmond Outlook reports. At the Danville location, the menu included shareable plates, boom boom shrimp, burgers, chicken sandwiches, pizza, salads, meatloaf and chicken fried steak, per the same outlet's sister report in the Chatham Star-Tribune.
Oklahoma City's dining scene has seen plenty of movement lately, with restaurants opening, closing and announcing changes in recent months, according to The Oklahoman. Visit Oklahoma City has similarly pointed to a steady stream of new restaurants and bars popping up from Deep Deuce to Midtown, as noted on the organization's website.
For now, the focus for Bricktown Brewery is the Nov. 6-7 soft opening, a chance for the Northwest Expressway neighborhood to get an early taste of the restaurant while raising money for a cause tied to military families. With another location now added to its growing footprint, the hometown brewery continues to lean into the kind of expansion that has carried it from a single Bricktown storefront to restaurants spread across five states.
