Brooklawn police are asking for the public's help identifying two people they want to question about a shoplifting incident at the borough's Wawa convenience store on Wednesday. Investigators have released images of the pair as they try to piece together what happened.

According to Newport Dispatch, the Brooklawn Police Department released the photos as part of its investigation into the October 28 incident at the Wawa. Anyone who recognizes either person or has information about what happened is asked to call the department at 856-456-0750 ext. 110.

Residents who want to stay anonymous have another option: tips can be emailed to police or phoned in at extension 112 of the same number, according to the department's public requests in earlier cases. Police have not said what, if anything, was taken from the store or whether any charges have been filed.

A Pattern of Trouble at the Same Store

This is not the first time this particular Wawa has drawn police attention this year. Just days before the latest incident, officers asked for help identifying a man wanted for questioning in a separate shoplifting case at the store, the same outlet reported in a prior report.

Back in August, the borough's police department sought the public's help identifying four people caught on camera in connection with another shoplifting incident at the Wawa, which occurred on a Tuesday in early August, according to News 12 New Jersey. A year earlier, in October 2025, police sought to question a woman in connection with yet another shoplifting incident at the same location, per Newport Dispatch's earlier coverage.

Older Cases Show a Longer History

The Wawa's shoplifting troubles stretch back further still. A Brooklawn Borough Police Department press release detailed a September 2024 case in which Kyeeth Smith, 33, of Willingboro, was charged with theft after stealing $25 worth of items from the store, following a police investigation.

That same month, officers responding to a report of possible shoplifting at the Wawa ended up arresting Richard Catalano on four active warrants, with a subsequent search turning up cocaine and drug paraphernalia, according to the same department record. The store has also factored into other borough theft investigations; Gloucester City News reported that police sought help identifying two people wanted in connection with a theft earlier this month at the local KFC Restaurant, a separate case from the Wawa incidents.

No arrests or charges have been announced in Wednesday's incident, and police have not released additional details about what occurred inside the store. Anyone with information is urged to come forward using the contact options provided by the department.
