Buffalo woke to clear skies and temperatures near 41 degrees Tuesday morning, but the afternoon will settle into classic late-October jacket weather. Mostly sunny skies and a high near 55 should make for an easy day outdoors, with only a light chance of rain.
According to the National Weather Service Buffalo, Wednesday stays dry and partly sunny, setting the stage for a much warmer finish to the workweek.
Buffalo is expected to stay dry today, with rain chances Thursday night and Sunday.
Wednesday Warms Up Before Thursday’s Best Weather
Wednesday’s high should reach about 65 degrees under partly sunny skies, with light south winds. Thursday looks like the standout day, bringing sunshine, a high near 68 and southwest winds of 7 to 13 mph.
Those Thursday winds could gust as high as 25 mph, so lightweight decorations and anything loose on porches may need a little attention. The weather service is also flagging near-record warmth for the region, a striking turn from Tuesday morning’s chill.
Showers Return After Thursday’s Warm Spell
A 50% chance of rain showers is forecast Thursday night, with temperatures falling toward 51 degrees overnight. Friday should be mostly sunny with a high near 62.
Saturday looks mostly dry and partly sunny with a high near 64, offering another solid window for outdoor plans. Sunday brings a 30% chance of showers after 7 a.m., mostly cloudy skies and a high near 66, with the rain chance increasing to 50% Sunday night.
Dry Stretch Leaves Fall Fuels Very Dry
The Buffalo weather office says much of the region has gone nearly two weeks without measurable rain, leaving fine fuels and leaf litter unusually dry. Strong winds and low humidity are not expected to line up significantly through the weekend, but residents should still use care with outdoor flames and discarded cigarettes.
