Buffalo Rock has officially opened its newly expanded Oxmoor Campus at 800 Lakeshore Parkway in Homewood, marking the latest milestone in a sweeping, years-long overhaul of the nation's largest single family-owned Pepsi and Dr Pepper bottler. The campus, originally built in 1966 with just 75,000 square feet, now spans 320,000 square feet and includes an on-site bottle manufacturing line.
As reported by Bham Now, the expanded facility now includes in-house blow-molding capabilities, a process that heats and shapes plastic preforms into finished bottles. The new blow-molding operation occupies nearly 22,000 square feet and can churn out roughly 800 20-ounce bottles per minute through a fully integrated, closed-loop system. Company leaders say the setup gives Buffalo Rock greater control over its manufacturing process while helping cut down on waste and truck traffic.
The expansion supports 18 new positions that require specialized technical expertise to operate and maintain the advanced equipment, according to the same report. Buffalo Rock also completed a full renovation of the facility's office spaces, adding a new break room, modernized offices, and a larger gathering space designed for team meetings and collaboration.
A Decade of Infrastructure Overhaul Across the Southeast
The Homewood opening comes amid broader infrastructure and modernization investments across Buffalo Rock's operations. The company has invested $300 million across the Southeast on infrastructure and modernization upgrades, Bham Now reports, a figure that lines up with a wider campaign Business Alabama describes as having rewired the entire business. Buffalo Rock relocated its corporate headquarters to the Lakeshore site in 2025.

Leaders Tout Jobs and Local Manufacturing Impact
Buffalo Rock's leaders framed the opening as a turning point for the company's production strategy. The company has modernized and strengthened nearly every facility over the past five years, and bringing blow molding in-house is expected to support greater efficiency, flexibility and growth. The new process was described as more agile, efficient and resilient.
The expansion was described as creating new opportunities and strengthening local manufacturing in Homewood. The investment was also described as strengthening advanced manufacturing and creating highly skilled jobs in the city.
