Washington is waking to clear skies and a sharp autumn chill Sunday, with temperatures around 45 degrees early at Reagan National. The District should stay sunny and dry, warming to near 60 this afternoon — pleasant for outdoor plans, but jacket weather in the morning.
Sunny Sunday, Chilly Start
North to northeast winds will run around 7 mph, with occasional afternoon gusts closer to 15 to 20 mph. According to the National Weather Service, the region will remain under high pressure, keeping skies clear and rain out of the forecast.
Cold Nights Linger Around The District
Sunday night should stay clear, with temperatures falling to around 42 degrees before Monday rebounds to a sunny high near 64. Frost and freeze concerns remain focused outside the District, with advisories posted in parts of Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia, while no weather advisory is listed for Washington.
Mostly Sunny Through Saturday
Tuesday looks like the warmest day of the week at around 67 degrees, followed by highs near 64 Wednesday, 66 Thursday, 63 Friday and 61 Saturday. Overnight temperatures will mostly settle in the upper 40s to around 50, making mornings and evenings feel considerably colder than the sunny afternoons.
Rain chances remain minimal through the week, though a coastal storm could bring isolated showers and stronger breezes late next week if it tracks closer to the Mid-Atlantic coast. The outlook is a modest update from Saturday's D.C. forecast, with Sunday's high now projected slightly warmer and the dry stretch looking especially durable.
