Charlotte woke to clear skies and crisp mid-40s temperatures Wednesday, with a sunny afternoon headed toward 71 degrees. The forecast stays rain-free, but the warm afternoons will give way to a noticeably cooler weekend.
Sunny Days, Dry Air Continue
North-northeast winds around 5 to 7 mph will accompany Wednesday's sunshine, while afternoon humidity drops to the middle 20s percent. The official increased fire danger statement covers northeast Georgia rather than Mecklenburg County, but the dry air still makes caution around outdoor flames a smart move, according to the National Weather Service.
Thursday looks nearly identical, with bright skies and a high near 73 degrees. The classic fall wardrobe shuffle remains firmly on the schedule.
Cooler Weekend Arrives
Temperatures ease back Friday, when Charlotte should top out near 71 degrees, then fall to about 67 Saturday as northeast winds increase to 9 to 14 mph. Sunday brings a modest rebound to around 70, but overnight lows will remain in the low-to-mid 40s.
The dry stretch is expected to continue through at least Tuesday, with temperatures rising above normal from Monday onward. The updated outlook extends the no-rain pattern described in Hoodline's earlier Charlotte forecast, with warmer afternoons returning Monday and Tuesday after the weekend cooldown.
