Golfers in Charlotte no longer have to drive to a course or even a strip-mall simulator bay to get their swing in — a local startup will haul the entire setup into their backyard instead. Anywhere Country Club, launched by co-founders Jake Weyand and Jack Galatio in late May 2026, delivers a golf simulator directly to customers' homes, letting players tee off on more than 43,000 real-world courses without leaving Charlotte.

The concept is simple: rather than booking a bay at a golf entertainment venue, customers book the course to come to them. As Axios reports, Anywhere Country Club brings the golf-course experience straight to a customer's backyard, with the company handling every bit of the setup and teardown itself. Since launching in late May, the company has kept a steady pace of three to five events per month, mixing backyard birthday parties with corporate bookings.

From Pinehurst to Pebble Beach, All in One Yard

The simulator's course list reads like a bucket-list tour of American golf. Course options include Pinehurst No. 2, Pebble Beach and TPC Sawgrass, alongside other iconic stops, according to the same Axios report. Players can also pull up Charlotte's own Quail Hollow Club, the Truist Championship's permanent PGA Tour home and a venue that has hosted the 2017 PGA Championship and the 2022 Presidents Cup, per Golf Monthly.

Setup is flexible enough to work indoors or outdoors, though each comes with its own space requirements. An indoor setup needs a 13-foot ceiling and a 13-foot-by-13-foot footprint, while an outdoor setup simply requires a flat surface, the Axios report notes. Bookings must run at least three hours and fall within a 50-mile radius of Charlotte, limiting the service to the immediate metro area for now.

Clubs, Kids and Corporate Crowds

Weyand told the outlet that birthday parties booked through Anywhere Country Club are mostly for children ages 1 to 7, with the simulator itself functioning more as entertainment for the adults in attendance. The team supplies left-handed, right-handed and children's clubs, though customers are also welcome to bring their own. Pricing is not fixed, since it varies based on event length, location and number of people, Weyand said.

That flexible, come-to-you model sets Anywhere Country Club apart from the fixed-location simulator venues that have been popping up around the region. A December 2024 Charlotte Observer article described a growing list of virtual golf venues that had opened over the prior four years, including The Puttery, X-America, Intown Golf Club and Topgolf. Five Iron Golf, which has grown to 33 locations and invested $20 million in its expansion since opening in 2017, has also been seeking Charlotte-area franchisees for locations in SouthPark, Ballantyne, Fort Mill and Rock Hill, with its first local spot expected to open sometime in 2026.

A Market Teeing Up for Growth

The timing lines up with a national surge in indoor and simulator golf. About 6.2 million Americans used a virtual golf system in 2023, up 73% from 2019, the Observer reported, and the global golf simulator market was projected to grow from $1.8 billion in 2023 to $3.4 billion by 2030. Anywhere Country Club isn't the only mobile option nationally, either — Triangle Lawn Games operates a mobile golf simulator rental network that it says serves Charlotte along with cities including Raleigh, Charleston and Washington, D.C., with rental fees covering delivery, an attendant, setup and pickup.

For now, Anywhere Country Club is keeping its footprint local, sticking to backyards, birthday parties and corporate outings within that 50-mile radius of Charlotte. With three to five events booked every month since its late-May debut, the founders appear to be betting that Charlotte golfers would rather let the course come to them than fight for a tee time.
