Staff and Catering Customers Redirected to Concord
The Chevys at 12466 Tesson Ferry Road in Concord will remain open, and Strickland said several Olivette employees are expected to join that location's staff. Catering customers who relied on the Olivette restaurant have also been notified of the closure and directed to place future orders through the Concord location instead.
Regulars who want the Chevys experience now will have to make the drive to south county for fajitas, chips, and margaritas.
A Different Chevys Experience Awaits in Concord
The Tesson Ferry restaurant isn't a carbon copy of what Olivette offered. Bob Menendez, who purchased the independently franchised Concord location eight years ago, told the magazine his restaurant still uses original recipes from 20 years earlier and makes everything from scratch — a contrast to what he understood to be recipe changes made at the Olivette location in recent years.
Menendez also said prices at his restaurant run 35% cheaper than what Olivette had been charging. For diners used to the Olivette location's paper-thin chips, smoky fire-roasted tomato salsa, and tortillas made in view of guests on an automatic tortilladora, the Concord version offers a similar menu built on a different, and by Menendez's account more affordable, foundation.

The company's O'Fallon, Illinois, location closed back on March 7, 2024, after Chevys said it was unable to reach a lease agreement, according to bnd.com. At that time, the company said its Olivette location would continue operating as usual.
Separately, stltoday.com has reported that the franchise owner of local Chevys Fresh Mex restaurants filed for bankruptcy and plans to shutter a store at the St. Louis Mills mall in Hazelwood.
