Cliff House Grill, serving breakfast and lunch with afternoon small bites, is scheduled to open Friday, Oct. 2, at Wynn Golf Club, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The golf course reopened in October 2019 after a two-year closure and renovation by its original architect, Tom Fazio, and his son Logan, according to Top 100 Golf Courses.
Golf course water budgets
Water budgets set a limit on course use: according to the Southern Nevada Water Authority, the Las Vegas Valley Water District approved reducing golf-course budgets from 6.3 acre-feet per acre annually to 4 acre-feet effective in 2024. The authority says golf courses use 5 percent of the area’s water.
A clubhouse built into the course
The grill occupies a new two-level clubhouse above the course’s 18th green. The Review-Journal reports that Skidmore, Owings & Merrill designed the building using earth, wood and stone, and that the club’s professional tee has been moved onto its roof. In comments reported by the paper, SOM partner Colin Koop said the design was intended to connect the building with the golf course.
Dining and service
Executive Chef Patricia Gamez leads the restaurant’s American clubhouse menu. Items reported by the Review-Journal include sticky toffee pancakes and a beef birria burrito. The beverage program is by Mariena Mercer Boarini, Wynn Resorts’ Master Mixologist for North America, and includes cocktails, spirit-free drinks and wines.
Cliff House Grill is scheduled to operate from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, the Review-Journal reports. The all-day menu is available daily until 3 p.m., with small bites served afterward until closing.
