Coffee Boss is adding a Downtown storefront alongside its original Northeast El Paso location. The coffee truck that built its following at 4020 Dyer St. is expanding to a second location at 107 S. Kansas St., with owners aiming to pour their first Downtown cups sometime between late October and early November.

Owners Leslie Corral and Ivan Hernandez said it was overwhelming community support that made the leap possible, according to El Paso Inc. The pair started Coffee Boss as a truck parked in Northeast El Paso, and the Downtown shop will mark the brand's first brick-and-mortar step beyond that original setup.

Customers who have come to rely on the truck's menu will not have to adjust their order. The Downtown location is set to carry the same lineup as the Dyer Street truck, per the same report, meaning fan favorites will simply have a new address.

What's Actually on the Menu

That menu centers on a handful of signature lattes that have built Coffee Boss's reputation, including the Boss, the Abuelita and the Biscoff. The Abuelita leans into nostalgia, combining Mexican chocolate with espresso and vanilla cold foam topped with cocoa powder, according to the shop's Postmates listing. The Biscoff, meanwhile, lines the inside of the cup with cookie butter before adding milk, vanilla flavor, vanilla cold foam and a dusting of Biscoff cookie crumbs, the listing notes.

Whatever Coffee Boss has been doing at its original window seems to be working. The same Postmates page shows the shop holding a 4.7 rating out of 66 ratings, a solid showing heading into its first expansion.

A Downtown Coffee Scene on the Move

The timing lines up with what appears to be a lively stretch for Downtown El Paso's coffee options. A report from KVIA describes rapid growth in the area's coffee scene, pointing to more than five new cafés opening this year, though the full scope of that growth has not been independently confirmed. Coffee Boss would be joining that wave right as it settles into its new Kansas Street address.

El Paso's broader coffee landscape has been active elsewhere in the city too. 2Ten Coffee Roasters, which started as a small drive-thru in 2015, was reportedly preparing for a fourth location in East El Paso targeted for summer 2026, according to KFOX14/CBS4. Meanwhile, a 7Brew Drive-Thru Coffee location was said to be headed for 9061 Dyer St. in Northeast El Paso, per a report from the El Paso Times, and 787 Coffee has opened a third El Paso shop at 2021 N. Zaragoza Road, according to the chain's own announcement.

From Food Truck to Storefront

Coffee Boss's jump from truck to shop echoes a path other El Paso food businesses have taken before. A 2018 El Paso Times report tracked several local food trucks, including Chase the Taste, Kaedaema, Desert Oak Barbecue, Tacoholics, Steve-O's and Jonbalaya, that made the same move into permanent restaurant spaces. Coffee Boss now looks to follow a similar trajectory, swapping a single curbside window for a storefront built around the drinks that got it there.

The Downtown location sits along a stretch served by the El Paso Streetcar and local bus routes, with the Streetcar itself running a 4.8-mile route in two loops through the city's uptown and downtown areas, according to Sun Metro. For now, Corral and Hernandez are focused on getting the doors open, with a late-October to early-November target standing as the only timeline confirmed so far.
