Denver is forecast to reach a high near 83 Sunday, with a partly sunny afternoon. Rain is unlikely, but southwest winds at Denver-area airports could gust up to 29 mph Sunday afternoon. It is one more short-sleeve day before the forecast takes a cooler, wetter turn.
Afternoon Winds Pick Up
Temperatures should climb through the 70s around midday before peaking near 83 in the afternoon, while clouds stay limited. According to the National Weather Service Denver/Boulder aviation forecast, southwest winds at Denver-area airports could gust up to 25 knots (about 29 mph) Sunday afternoon. No watches, warnings or advisories are listed for Denver.
Sunday night will be mostly clear with a low around 57, while south-southwest winds weaken somewhat and remain south-southwest overnight. Monday stays sunny and warm for the holiday, with a high near 82 before temperatures slide again.
Rain Chances Build Tuesday Night
Tuesday will be cooler, with precipitation chances increasing Tuesday night. Wednesday is shaping up as the week’s main weather change, with cool, rainy conditions.
Showers and thunderstorms may continue Wednesday night, when the low falls to around 42. Thursday brings partly cloudy skies, a high near 65 and a 24% chance of precipitation, followed by a cooler Friday near 59 before sunshine and a warmer 70-degree Saturday.
The latest outlook sharpens the timing from Saturday’s Hoodline forecast, which described the midweek shift more broadly. The updated forecast now puts the strongest Denver-area rain and storm chances squarely on Wednesday, with lingering shower chances into Thursday night.
