Sean Combs was reportedly rushed from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey early Saturday after suffering a head injury, then returned to the low-security federal prison before sunrise. Sources described him as conscious and speaking when he arrived back behind bars, though officials have not said how he was hurt.
According to KOMO News, officials have not disclosed how Combs injured his head, and federal correctional institution sources, citing TMZ, confirmed he was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Combs was reportedly transported by ambulance from Fort Dix at around 1 a.m. Saturday after what Gulf News described as an apparent fall. Combs was taken from the facility to a hospital for treatment of the head injury.
How Combs sustained the injury remains unclear. The ambulance reportedly returned Combs to Fort Dix before sunrise, and he was described as conscious and speaking once back at the facility.
The Bureau of Prisons, for its part, declined to address what happened. “For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not comment on the conditions of confinement,” the agency said, a standard line it has also used when asked about changes to Combs' release date. Combs remains incarcerated at Fort Dix, a low-security federal prison in New Jersey, according to NBC News.
From Acquittal to a 50-Month Sentence
Combs was convicted in 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution but was acquitted of the far more serious charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, Newsweek reported. He was sentenced to four years and two months, KOMO News reported. KOMO News reported that his trial lasted eight weeks, with witnesses describing drug-fueled sexual encounters referred to as “freak-offs” or “hotel nights” that could reportedly stretch on for days.
His projected release date has shifted multiple times since sentencing. KOMO News reported that an initial projected date of May 8, 2028 was later moved up, with the date changing to February 5, 2028 as of September.
Allegations of Prison Lifestyle Issues
NBC News reported that Combs was placed in solitary confinement at Fort Dix after its story about his prison life, which described allegations that inmates were paid for services. NBC News separately reported that Combs was placed in solitary over the summer following a fight with another inmate and was later removed from a drug-treatment program, according to its sources.
KOMO News reported that Combs was said to have been involved in a fight with another inmate less than a week before his release date was changed in September. None of these claims about his conduct in custody have been independently confirmed beyond the sourcing already cited, and the Bureau of Prisons has not explained publicly what prompted any adjustment to his release timeline.
