A still-unnamed Philadelphia couple will exchange vows in a parking lot outside Lincoln Financial Field on Monday, Oct. 26, trading a traditional venue for tailgate tents, grills and a Monday Night Football kickoff against the Dallas Cowboys. The ceremony is set for roughly 5:45 p.m., sandwiched inside a 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. reception window, before the Eagles and Cowboys take the field for their division rivalry game.
A Beer Brand's Wedding Gift to Philly
The tailgate wedding is the brainchild of Garage Beer, the light beer company co-owned by former Eagles center Jason Kelce and his brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, according to Axios. The brand held a contest, with video submissions due by Oct. 4, and Garage Beer has selected a winning couple. Garage Beer co-founder Andy Sauer told Axios the company began planning a tailgate-inspired wedding after noticing how many wedding invitations it received each month, and said Philadelphia has supported the brand through commercials, red carpet premieres and Eagles tailgates.
The wedding perks are considerable. Steven Singer Jewelers is giving the couple a $2,000 gift card toward their rings, the article notes, while Ocean Casino Resort is providing a honeymoon experience plus a second trip in 2027. Barbecue chef Matt Groark, known online as The Meat Teacher, will fire up Kingsford charcoal grills at the tailgate, according to a release from PR Newswire.
Music, Guests and a Former Super Bowl Champ
Music will come courtesy of Delco Donny and the Philly Pops, per the same Axios report, while Garage Beer has invited former Eagles defensive tackle Beau Allen along with unnamed surprise guests. Allen played four seasons in Philadelphia from 2014 through 2017 and recorded two tackles in the Eagles' Super Bowl LII championship game, according to the Philadelphia Eagles, making him a familiar face for fans gathered in the lot.
The marriage itself will be legally binding thanks to a quirk of Pennsylvania law. The state allows couples to obtain a self-uniting marriage license, a provision rooted in Pennsylvania's Quaker heritage that requires no ordained officiant or third-party celebrant — only two witness signatures, according to Burgh Brides. Pennsylvania is one of only a few states that offers the option to the general public, meaning the couple can say their vows in a stadium parking lot without a judge or clergy present and still walk away legally married.
Navigating New Tailgate Rules
The timing comes as stadium management and the Sports Complex Parking Venture have rolled out stricter tailgating rules this month, restricting equipment and activities to an assigned or purchased area and charging $200 for oversized vehicles in Lots D and N when drivers lack a prepaid oversized-vehicle pass, according to Hoodline's earlier reporting. Parking managers introduced hand-assigned spaces and space limits as a traffic-flow measure, and tailgaters pushed back against the policy, per FOX 29. Those restrictions matter more as ticket prices climb — the average price for a single Eagles home game at Lincoln Financial Field reached $523 in September, according to secondary marketplace data from SeatPick, while high ticket costs have also fueled fan frustration.
A Beer Brand on a Growth Tear
Garage Beer’s wedding stunt lands amid a run of corporate momentum for the brand. Commercial lender Tiger Finance provided a $20 million credit facility to Garage Beer, per PR Newswire, following growth capital the brand received from Durational Capital Management in September 2025. The Ohio-based brand expanded nationally, and the Kelce brothers became its largest stakeholders in June 2024, as Hoodline first reported.
Garage Beer plans to release limited-edition beer packs designed by local Philadelphia sports artist Jordan Spector next month, Axios reports, with a Sip & Shop launch event scheduled for Oct. 25 at Jawn Supply in West Chester featuring exclusive hats and shirts; the limited 15-pack packaging will be available starting Nov. 1. The wedding and the retail push arrive before the Cowboys come to town, giving fans in the parking lot plenty to cheer for beyond the ceremony itself.
