Early-Morning Garage Fire
The Alameda County Fire Department described an early-morning garage fire in Dublin in a Facebook post.
The two adults living in the home were alerted by their dog's barking, which helped wake them before the fire grew worse, per the same post. Both residents were displaced as a result of the damage, though the fire department's account did not detail where they are staying or the extent of the loss.
Multi-Agency Response Stopped the Spread
Firefighters from the Alameda County Fire Department and the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department mounted a coordinated multi-agency attack on the flames, the department said in its post. That joint effort kept the fire from spreading to neighboring homes, even as it ate through the first floor and attic of the affected house.
The department published an account of an early-morning garage fire in Dublin.
A Previous Garage-Related Fire
Garage fires have proven tricky for Dublin firefighters before. In July, the Alameda County Fire Department responded at about 10:43 p.m. to a vehicle fire in a garage on the 11000 block of Rolling Hills Drive, according to pleasantonweekly.com. That fire spread to the residence itself and ignited roughly 0.1 acres of grass behind the house after embers drifted into the yard.
Crews in that earlier incident quickly contained both the structure and grass fires and kept them from spreading further, the outlet reported.
