A new smoothie shop is in the works for Eastside Tacoma, with plans to bring fresh fruit blends, espresso drinks and a breakfast-and-lunch menu to 5431 Pacific Ave. Fantastic Smoothies is being developed by owners Anthony Smith and Adrian Broussard, who are aiming for a spring 2027 opening.
According to the Tacoma News Tribune, Smith and Broussard are Tacoma natives who say they grew up eating healthfully and recall their mother making them fresh fruit smoothies as kids. The shop's menu is set to include classic flavors like strawberry-banana, mango-pineapple, peanut-butter-and-banana and piña colada, as reported by Yahoo.
The shop also plans to offer green smoothies along with a make-your-own smoothie option for customers who want to build their own combination, per the same report. Beyond blended fruit, Fantastic Smoothies intends to serve lattes and espresso, rounding out a menu built around smoothies, coffee and breakfast.
A Menu That Goes Beyond the Blender
The food side of the business is still taking shape, but the planned lineup will likely include croissant breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches and egg bites, the outlet notes. Prices and hours of operation have not yet been determined.
The name Fantastic Smoothies traces back to another local business memory: the owners say they were inspired by Fantastic Burger on South Sprague Avenue, which eventually became Legendz, the same report states.
Permit Filed As Renovation Work Looms
A business permit was filed with the City of Tacoma earlier in October, and per that permit filing, renovations at the Pacific Avenue location are estimated at $48,000. Smith and Broussard are targeting a spring 2027 opening for Fantastic Smoothies.
