The National Weather Service forecast calls for isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms in the El Paso forecast area Monday, with light winds favoring a southerly direction in the afternoon and temperatures climbing to about 85 degrees. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms is forecast Monday, with the odds holding near 20%. The bigger weather story is still ahead, as storm chances rise sharply late Thursday.
The National Weather Service says Monday night will have a low near 63 and a 0% precipitation probability. Tuesday and Wednesday look sunnier and hotter, with highs near 87 and 85; Wednesday’s east-southeast winds may gust up to 20 mph. No watches or warnings are posted for the area in the current NWS forecast.
Warm Midweek, Wetter Turn Thursday Night
Thursday will remain warm near 85 degrees, but a slight chance of showers before noon will give way to a chance of thunderstorms later in the day, with southeast winds gusting as high as 23 mph. By Thursday night, showers and thunderstorms are likely, with mostly cloudy skies, a low near 64 and southerly gusts up to 21 mph.
The latest outlook sharpens the late-week storm signal described in Sunday’s Hoodline forecast. The weather service says isolated strong storms, locally heavy rain and flooding could become concerns, especially in the Gila region, while later updates will determine how much of that activity reaches El Paso.
Cooler Weekend Follows The Storm Threat
Friday should turn mostly sunny with a high near 81, though a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms remains. Saturday is forecast to reach about 78 with a 20% chance of showers, while Sunday tops out near 75 with another chance of showers and thunderstorms.
For Thursday night plans, residents should keep an eye on updated forecasts and use caution around low-water crossings if storms develop. The current outlook does not call for a watch or warning, but the combination of stronger storms and heavier downpours could make conditions change quickly.
