Beginning January 1, 2027, the office at 375 Township Line Road in Elkins Park is set to operate as an ENTA-PA clinical location. Dr. Melissa Schwartz is bringing her Montgomery County ENT Institute into the network; she has treated patients in the Philadelphia region since 1996 and has run the practice at that address since 2007.
The transition, reported by citybiz, adds an Elkins Park site to ENTA-PA's presence in Montgomery County, alongside locations in Northeast Philadelphia, Richboro and Horsham. Schwartz brings nearly 30 years of experience treating adults and children with ear, nose and throat conditions. The office is expected to continue providing ENT care and offer allergy, immunology and audiology services under the ENTA-PA banner.
“Dr. Schwartz has spent nearly three decades caring for patients and building a trusted practice in Montgomery County,” ENT & Allergy Associates president Steven Gold said, per the same citybiz report.
A Physician's Deep Local Roots
Schwartz serves as a clinical associate professor in PCOM's department of otorhinolaryngology and holds an executive MBA in healthcare from Saint Joseph's University, per citybiz. She is board-certified in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery. Schwartz earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her otolaryngology-head and neck surgery residency through PCOM-affiliated hospitals, according to the American Osteopathic College of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
She's a fellow of both the American Osteopathic College of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. Her practice has emphasized shared decision-making between physician and patient and offers minimally invasive treatment options in the office. For surgical cases requiring a hospital setting, Dr. Schwartz maintains medical staff privileges at Holy Redeemer Hospital and Lankenau Medical Center, and performs outpatient procedures at Holy Redeemer Ambulatory Surgery Center, according to WebMD.
Part of a Broader Regional Push
ENTA-PA's Pennsylvania expansion has involved both adding clinicians and bringing established practices into the network. Allergy & Asthma Care became part of ENT & Allergy Associates, bringing its allergy and asthma practice and physicians John Kuryan, MD, FACAAI; Min Ku, MD; Sheenal Patel, MD; Stephanie Eng, MD; and Sheryl Mathew, MD, into the fold, per citybiz. More recently, otolaryngologist Paul C. Frake, MD, joined the company's Horsham office, adding to its specialty offerings in Montgomery County.
How ENTA-PA established its Pennsylvania presence
The Elkins Park transition follows an earlier plan to build out the Pennsylvania network. In its 2025 announcement forming ENTA-PA, ENT & Allergy Associates said the entity would initially consist of existing practice locations across Philadelphia, Montgomery and Bucks counties, with plans to add physicians and services and extend its geographic reach to other Pennsylvania markets.
Under CEO Daniel Blum, who took the helm in February 2023, ENT & Allergy Associates has grown into a sprawling operation of more than 475 clinicians across over 80 locations spanning New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Texas. The company pushed into Pennsylvania in early 2025 and into Texas in January 2026, according to Crain's New York Business. That expansion has been backed by serious institutional muscle: in June 2026, ENTA and its management service organization, Hümi, selected J.P. Morgan as primary operating bank and lead lender to fund operational growth, clinical technology investment and physician recruitment, the company announced.
Independent Ownership in an Era of Consolidation
ENTA describes itself as a 100% physician-owned and democratically governed practice, with partner physicians holding equal ownership shares across its multi-state network, according to Health eCareers. That structure stands in contrast to other consolidation happening in the same specialty. Locally, private equity firm Zenyth Partners formed a competing platform, Align ENT + Allergy, in 2024 by combining three regional ENT practices with a Connecticut group to manage 30 doctors and 28 audiologists, as reported by The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Nationally, the ENT and allergy sector has seen more than 13 major M&A transactions announced between January 2025 and March 2026, according to Physician Growth Partners. Industry analysts have also projected that the total U.S. surgeon shortage will reach nearly 14,000 physicians by 2034, a gap that is driving demand for otolaryngologists as chronic sinus, airway and hearing disorders rise among aging populations, per Physicians Thrive. For solo and boutique practices like Dr. Schwartz's, aligning with a larger network can mean offloading administrative and financial burdens while preserving existing hospital affiliations.
ENTA is also preparing a systemwide technology rollout, with plans to launch the Epic electronic health record platform across all its clinical locations in November, ahead of the Elkins Park site's formal transition. Once the switch takes effect on January 1, 2027, ENTA-PA will gain another established base for its integrated ENT, allergy, immunology and audiology model in the Philadelphia region, rounding out a push the company has described as focused on increasing density in the local market.
