
The five-vehicle collision on Highway 59 South in Covington involved a Tipton County Board of Education school bus and sent seven people to the hospital, WREG reported. No students were aboard.
The collision occurred in front of the Covington Country Club. According to WREG, a vehicle had stopped on the highway to wait to turn into the golf course when the bus struck a vehicle in the line. The impact led to a chain reaction involving the other stopped vehicles, the station reported.
Emergency crews took all seven injured people to Regional One Health. One patient was listed in critical condition and the other six were reported stable, FOX13 Memphis reported, citing the Covington Police Department.
