A man was found dead Saturday morning after his car left the road and struck an embankment near the entrance to Chinook Landing in Fairview. Deputies were dispatched to the scene at about 8:25 a.m. and discovered the driver deceased after the single-vehicle crash.
According to KATU, the vehicle left the roadway and struck an embankment near the entrance to the park. Investigators with the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office said alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash, though the man's identity had not been released as of Saturday.
As first reported by The Oregonian/OregonLive, deputies learned of the crash just before 8:30 a.m. near the Chinook Landing Marine Park entrance, where the sheriff's office said a car had left the road and hit an embankment.
