Fairytale Town is pulling out the ringmaster hat for its 40th annual Safe and Super Halloween, turning the Sacramento park into a circus-themed Halloween world for two weekends this month. The family event runs Friday through Sunday, Oct. 16-18, and again Friday and Saturday, Oct. 23-24, with each night going from 5 to 9 p.m.
Big Top Takeover at the Sacramento Park
According to fairytaletown.org, this year's edition brings a circus theme to the grounds, with the official listing declaring, “Circus fun is coming to Fairytale Town this Halloween season!” The park, located in Sacramento, invites children and their families to come dressed up, with organizers noting that “Families are encouraged to dress up!” Visitors can expect crafts, games, magic and trick-or-treating spread throughout the park, per the same listing.
Per Sactown Supermom, the event's full run spans Oct. 16-18 and Oct. 23-24, 2026, giving families two separate weekends to pick from. Sactown Supermom also flags Safe and Super Halloween as a good option for younger kids just getting used to trick-or-treating, calling it one of several “free trunk-or-treat events that are great for trying out trick-or-treating with little ones” in the area, alongside this ticketed park experience.
Tickets and Admission Rules
Advance tickets run $15, with advance member tickets priced at $12, both available through Oct. 15, the fairytaletown.org listing states. Tickets purchased the day of the event cost $18, while children under age 2 get in free. The listing also spells out an accompaniment rule for the ticketed event: adults must be accompanied by children, and children must be accompanied by adults to gain admission to the park.
A Theme Change From Last Year
The circus theme marks a shift from the park's prior Halloween celebration, which Visit Sacramento had described as transforming Fairytale Town “into the thrilling world of Auradon and the Isle of the Lost” for a Descendants-themed event. That same listing referred to the celebration as the park's 39th annual Safe and Super Halloween, while the current fairytaletown.org page for 2026 calls it the 40th — a discrepancy in the event's official count that hasn't been reconciled between the two sources.
As reported by the Mountain Democrat, Fairytale Town is offering performers, classic circus sights, interactive activities and festive entertainment as part of the celebration, alongside colorful characters, carnival curiosities and Halloween surprises throughout the grounds. Visitors can find more information and purchase tickets at fairytaletown.org ahead of the first weekend.
