Finn Wolfhard, best known for playing Mike Wheeler on Netflix's Stranger Things, stopped at The Barrio Vintage in Downtown El Paso. The actor and musician was reportedly still wearing his Austin City Limits artist wristband from a performance the previous day when he walked into the shop.
According to elpasotimes.com, Wolfhard recently stopped by The Barrio Vintage, located in the heart of Downtown El Paso. The timing lined up with his broader tour schedule: he performed at Austin City Limits Music Festival on Oct. 10, and per MySA, he traveled on to Phoenix to headline a concert there on Oct. 12. MySA reports that owner Joey Arcos said Wolfhard's love of vintage clothing and T-shirts brought him into the city.
A Signature On a Pair of Sneakers
Per MySA, Wolfhard signed a pair of Nike x Stranger Things collaboration shoes while inside the shop, with the signature appearing to read Mike — a nod to his character on the Netflix series, according to the outlet. The sneakers reportedly feature an upside-down logo tied to the Stranger Things brand. MySA also reports that Joey Arcos said Wolfhard stopped by The Barrio Vintage on a Sunday afternoon, and that the actor's interest in vintage clothing and T-shirts factored into the visit.
The Barrio Vintage later posted a thank-you message to Wolfhard on Instagram for stopping by, per MySA's reporting. The shop is located at 210 S. Mesa St. # D in El Paso.
From Hawkins to Headlining Tours
Wolfhard played Mike on Stranger Things from 2016 to 2025, according to MySA, and also starred as Richie Tozier in the 2017 horror film It, as reported by elpasotimes.com. MySA further notes he starred in the It reboot and the 2021 film Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Alongside his acting career, he has released music publicly for most of a decade, fronting the indie band Calpurnia and performing with The Aubreys before branching into solo work, per MySA.
He has been The Aubreys' lead vocalist alongside Malcolm Craig since 2020, according to concertarchives.org. Before his solo career, Wolfhard released two records and an EP, plus numerous singles, with Calpurnia and The Aubreys, the Los Angeles Times reports. That outlet also notes Wolfhard is doubling down on guitar-driven solo work, shifting more attention to music after years split between acting and film projects.
Behind the New Album
Wolfhard's most recent album, Fire From The Hip, was released in July 2026, according to MySA. He completed a 22-date tour before recording it, per the Los Angeles Times. His 2026 record follows his 2025 solo debut, Happy Birthday, according to crescentphx.com.
Wolfhard has said the chemistry and friendship within his backing band helped shape the new record, according to the same Crescent Ballroom listing, which quotes him describing “the chemistry and the dynamic of our friendship, which ultimately became the inspiration behind the new album.” The recording process for Fire From The Hip centered around 24-track reel-to-reel tape, with the album consisting primarily of full-band live takes, per crescentphx.com.
