San Jose is waking Friday to partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid-50s, but the forecast has a familiar Bay Area split: fog early, sunshine later, and a cooler Halloween weekend waiting in the wings. Friday should warm to about 69 degrees after patchy fog lifts by 10 a.m.
The National Weather Service expects north-northwest winds of 1 to 10 mph Friday.
Halloween Looks Cool And Mostly Dry
Saturday will be mostly cloudy with a high near 65, with a possibility of light rain during trick-or-treat hours and the best chances overnight. Patchy fog is possible before 9 a.m. Saturday, so trick-or-treaters may want a jacket over the costume—and maybe a small umbrella within reach.
That is a more defined, but still low-impact, rain scenario than the earlier Hoodline forecast for the weekend. The latest update places the main rain chance late Saturday and keeps Sunday mostly sunny.
Sun Returns Sunday Before Midweek Rain Chances
Sunday should turn sunny with a high near 66. Monday looks mostly sunny and a little warmer near 69, while overnight lows remain in the mid-to-upper 40s.
Rain chances may return as early as Tuesday, though timing remains uncertain and could be delayed until Wednesday.
Coastal Flooding Is A Separate Shoreline Concern
San Jose is inland, but the regional forecast includes a Coastal Flood Advisory through 6 p.m. Sunday for certain Bayshore zones and through 6 p.m. Saturday for Pacific Coast zones. The advisory does not cover most of inland San Jose, but anyone heading toward San Francisco Bay or the coast should watch for minor flooding around high tide on low-lying roads, paths and parking areas.
