According to National Weather Service, Seattle is waking up under cloudy skies Wednesday, but the gloom should give way to a mostly sunny afternoon with temperatures reaching the upper 60s. Morning fog and low clouds will linger around Puget Sound before gradually scattering, setting up a mild and calmer day across the city.
Light northerly winds will increase to 5–10 knots and shift northwest in the afternoon. There are no watches or warnings in effect, and the chance of rain remains near zero through Wednesday and Thursday.
Sunny Thursday Before The Pattern Shifts
Thursday looks like the warmest day of the short stretch, with mostly sunny skies and a high in the low 70s. Overnight temperatures will fall to the upper 40s to low 50s, with a chance of light rain Friday.
Friday brings the forecast’s main change: mostly cloudy skies, a high near 63 degrees and a roughly 50% chance of rain. Any rainfall is expected to be light, with less than a tenth of an inch possible, though winds may turn breezy around the coast, the Strait of Juan de Fuca and exposed waterfront areas.
Cooler Weekend Weather Settles In
Showers could linger into early Friday night before Saturday turns partly sunny and cooler, with a high around 59 degrees, as reported by National Weather Service. Sunday should be sunnier but chilly by comparison, topping out near 60 degrees with an overnight low around 46.
Mostly sunny weather is expected Monday, October 12, with a high near 61 degrees. Another chance of rain could develop Tuesday into Wednesday, while the broader trend points to crisp mornings and cooler temperatures heading into next week.
