Washington woke Sunday to a chilly, damp-feeling start, with temperatures around 45 degrees at Reagan National and calm winds before sunrise. Patchy fog may linger before 8 a.m., then give way to bright sunshine and an afternoon high near 67.
Fog Clears, Sunshine Takes Over
The fog should burn off by midmorning, setting up a dry and sunny day across the District. Winds will stay light, making the afternoon a comfortable window for outdoor plans even if the morning calls for an extra layer.
Cold Outside The City, Warmer Week Ahead
Sunday night will be mostly clear with a low near 42 degrees, followed by another chance for patchy fog after midnight. Frost advisories and freeze warnings are posted in parts of Maryland and Virginia through 9 a.m., while Washington itself has no active advisory, according to the National Weather Service.
Warm Week Builds Toward Halloween
Monday should reach 70 degrees under sunny skies, with Tuesday near 69 and Wednesday partly sunny around 67. The warm-up continues Thursday near 72 and Friday near 75, while rain chances remain near zero through Friday and reach 10% Saturday. That longer, warmer finish updates Hoodline's earlier D.C. forecast, which emphasized the weekend's sharper morning chill.
