Washington starts Thursday with clear skies and temperatures in the mid-40s at Reagan National, but the afternoon will bring classic fall sunshine and a high near 66 degrees. North winds of 7 to 10 mph will add some bite, with stronger gusts possible near the metro area later in the day. No rain is expected.
Sunny Thursday, Colder Friday Night
The National Weather Service Baltimore-Washington office expects another clear night Thursday, with overnight lows in the upper 30s to 40s. Friday stays sunny but cooler, topping out near 63, and the next night could drop to around 39 degrees — cold enough for frost in some outlying spots.
That is a modest update to Hoodline's earlier D.C. forecast, with the weekend now looking firmly sunny but noticeably crisp. Saturday should reach 63 degrees under clear skies, while Sunday rebounds to 66; both mornings may feel much colder than the bright afternoons suggest.
Dry Stretch Runs Into Next Week
Rain stays out of the forecast through Tuesday, with sunny highs near 69 degrees Monday and Tuesday. Tuesday night turns partly cloudy, followed by a partly sunny Wednesday near 67 with only a minimal rain chance.
The District has no active weather alerts in the current forecast. For outdoor plans, the formula is simple: sunglasses in the afternoon, a jacket after sunset and extra caution for frost-sensitive plants in colder spots beyond the urban core.
