Washington starts Wednesday under clear skies with temperatures in the low 50s, and the District is headed for a sunny afternoon near 65 degrees. The dry stretch will stick around through the weekend, though chilly nights and a possible frost risk outside the city will add a sharper edge to the fall forecast.
Sunny Wednesday, Chilly Night
North winds around 9 mph will accompany the sunshine Wednesday, with no rain expected. After sunset, skies should remain mostly clear as temperatures fall to around 44 degrees.
Thursday stays bright with a high near 66 and northwest winds of 7 to 10 mph, with gusts up to 18 mph. Friday turns a bit cooler, topping out near 61 under sunny skies before another mostly clear night drops to around 39.
Weekend Sunshine With A Frosty Edge
Saturday will be sunny with a high near 61 and light northeast winds. The National Weather Service says some outlying areas could see frost Saturday morning, so early risers beyond the urban core may want an extra layer.
Sunday brings a warmer afternoon near 65 with mostly clear skies overnight and a low around 43. For the District itself, no watches, warnings or advisories are listed, though the National Weather Service Baltimore-Washington office says minor tidal flooding remains possible at some tidal sites through Thursday.
Dry Pattern Reaches Into Next Week
Monday looks like the warmest day of the stretch, with sunshine and a high near 69. Tuesday should remain mostly sunny near 67, keeping umbrellas largely out of the picture through the middle of next week.
