Richmond woke Wednesday to fog and mist around 50 degrees, but the damp start is not previewing a soggy day. Fog should thin by late morning as temperatures climb toward 68, with mostly cloudy skies and only a minimal rain chance.
Fog Could Slow The Morning Commute
Areas of fog are expected before 11 a.m., and some pockets around the Richmond area could see reduced visibility during the morning commute. Northeast winds will increase by late morning to 5 to 10 knots, about 6 to 12 mph, so drivers should give themselves extra room until the haze lifts, according to the National Weather Service.
Warmth Returns Thursday And Friday
Thursday turns partly sunny with a high near 74, followed by a sunny Friday near 78. Overnight lows will mostly be in the upper 40s and low 50s, making mornings jacket weather even as afternoons feel like early fall’s pleasant encore.
Halloween Looks Mild And Mostly Dry
Saturday’s Halloween forecast calls for partly sunny skies and a high near 68, with nighttime lows in the low 50s. That is cooler than the 74 previously projected for Saturday in Hoodline’s earlier Richmond forecast, but it still looks comfortable for trick-or-treating, with no rain currently expected.
Showers Enter The Picture Sunday Night
Sunday should remain mostly dry for much of the day, with light rain possible later. Light rain is possible later Sunday and Monday; Monday stays mostly cloudy near 70, and Tuesday is expected to be sunny with a high near 72.
No Watches Or Warnings Listed
No watches, warnings or advisories are listed for Virginia in the current outlook. The main near-term concern is reduced visibility during Wednesday morning’s fog, while the rest of the week favors dry outdoor plans through Halloween.
