Richmond was in the low to middle 40s Tuesday morning, with temperatures likely to fall to the upper 30s to low 40s by sunrise, but sunshine will quickly take over. Temperatures are expected to climb into the low 70s this afternoon, setting up another mild day after a chilly start.
Sunshine Takes Over Tuesday
Skies should remain sunny through the afternoon, with north-northeast winds and slightly higher winds along the coast. According to the National Weather Service, rain is not expected Tuesday, and no watches or warnings are posted for the Richmond area.
The latest outlook is a modest update to Hoodline’s Monday forecast, with Wednesday reaching about 72 degrees, Thursday near 75 and Friday topping out around 78. Overnight lows will stay mostly in the upper 40s and low 50s, so mornings will still feel much more like fall than the afternoons.
Halloween Looks Mild And Dry
Saturday’s Halloween forecast calls for partly sunny skies and a high near 74, with only a minimal rain chance. Saturday night should see clouds increase.
Rain Chance Arrives Sunday
Sunday brings the first notable rain threat of the stretch, with a 26% chance of showers after 7 a.m. The chance rises to 50% Sunday night, while uncertainty continues into early next week and Monday has a high near 73.
For now, Tuesday through Saturday look like the better window for dry commutes, outdoor errands and Halloween plans. Anyone scheduling outdoor activities Sunday or Monday may want a backup plan, though the forecast does not currently point to a washout.
