Fort Worth police are asking for the public's help identifying a man accused of exposing himself inside a rideshare vehicle, according to investigators. The man allegedly committed the act during a trip he had booked to a plasma donation center near La Gran Plaza, police say.
The rideshare's destination was a CSL Plasma donation center, which sits at 4200 South Freeway, Suite 1946, inside the La Gran Plaza shopping center in south Fort Worth, according to the plasma company's own listed location. As CBS News Texas reported, Fort Worth police say the man ordered the ride specifically to reach that donation center, and investigators are now working to track him down.
Where the Investigation Leads
La Gran Plaza is no small backdrop for a police search — the shopping center spans more than one million square feet of retail and community space off Interstate 35W, per the property's own leasing materials. The mall also maintains video surveillance across its common areas and directs reports of unlawful activity to its own security line at 817-922-8888, according to the center's posted security policy. Whether that footage factors into the Fort Worth Police Department's search for the suspect has not been detailed publicly.
The location also functions as a transit hub for south Fort Worth, serving as home to the La Gran Plaza Transfer Center and a stop on Trinity Metro's Route 1, rebranded as La Línea Rosa, which runs along Hemphill Street. That corridor connects downtown Fort Worth to the city's south side, according to the same Hemphill Street reporting that has tracked infrastructure changes near the plaza.
What Charges Could Look Like
Under Texas Penal Code Section 21.08, indecent exposure is a Class B misdemeanor, carrying a maximum penalty of 180 days in county jail and a $2,000 fine, according to FindLaw's summary of the statute. Prosecutors must show the act was committed with intent to arouse or sexually gratify and with recklessness as to whether others would be offended by witnessing it, the same legal summary notes.
A Pattern of Risk for Rideshare Drivers
The case raises questions about passenger accountability on ride-hailing platforms.
The vulnerability isn't hypothetical. A 2023 survey of more than 900 rideshare drivers by the Strategic Organizing Center found that two-thirds had experienced threats, harassment, or physical assaults on the job within a 12-month span, a statistic Hoodline has previously reported in covering a Mesquite driver's armed robbery ordeal that ended with Uber locking his account rather than the attackers'.
How to Help
Fort Worth police have not released a name or description of the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sullivan at 817-392-4352 and reference report number 260073977.
