Four former Nebraska volleyball standouts are coming home. LOVB Nebraska will play a League One Volleyball Pro match at John Cook Arena inside Lincoln's Bob Devaney Sports Center in late March 2027, with Rebekah Allick, Lindsay Krause-Wildeman, Jordan Larson and Lexi Rodriguez expected to take the court where they once starred for the Huskers.
The exact opponent, match date and start time have not been set, and according to huskers.com, those details will come later with LOVB's full 2026-27 schedule release. What is confirmed is the venue, the timeframe, and the star power: the four ex-Huskers are part of the LOVB Nebraska roster and are slated to appear in the Lincoln match, per the same report.
Kirsten Bernthal Booth, who serves as co-owner and president of business operations for LOVB Nebraska, said the team believes it can bring real juice to the Lincoln arena. She said Nebraska can bring substantial energy to Devaney Center and that the team's goal is to connect people across the state through matches held in different communities, according to huskers.com. Jordan Larson echoed that sentiment, saying she is excited to return to Lincoln and play before Husker Nation with the team, and that doing so will mean a lot to her.
Tickets Hit the Market Next Month
Fans hoping to be in the building will have their first shot at tickets on Wednesday, November 18, when presale begins, with public sales opening later that same day, huskers.com reports. Season-ticket holders can secure the best available seats.
The Lincoln match will follow LOVB Nebraska's March 2026 match in Grand Island, another home match outside its usual venues. The team sold out the Grand Island match, according to Nebraska Public Media. That approach — bringing professional volleyball to communities across the state rather than keeping it in one city — has become something of a trademark for the franchise.
A Statewide Strategy Already Paying Off
That strategy was on full display back on March 7, when LOVB Nebraska swept LOVB Salt Lake 3-0 at the Heartland Events Center in Grand Island, with scores of 29-27, 25-16 and 25-22, per lovb.com. Jordan Larson, a Hooper, Nebraska, native, tallied 14 kills on a season-high .385 hitting efficiency and added 13 digs for her second double-double in three matches that night, the same lovb.com report states.
The Grand Island matchup had sold more tickets than any other single game in the league, team president Kirsten Bernthal Booth told KSNB Local 4, calling it the best-selling game in the league. A Heartland Events Center official separately projected the match would carry a multi-million-dollar economic impact for the community, according to Central Nebraska Today.
Devaney's Big Volleyball Year
The Lincoln match will be one of two professional volleyball events at Devaney in 2027, according to huskers.com. The other is set for Sunday, February 28, 2027, when the Omaha Supernovas face the Los Angeles Thunder in a Major League Volleyball matchup at John Cook Arena, the same report notes. Across both games, six former Huskers are expected to return to their old home court: Rebekah Allick, Merritt Beason, Leyla Blackwell, Lindsay Krause-Wildeman, Jordan Larson and Lexi Rodriguez, according to 1011 NOW.
LOVB Nebraska unveiled a 13-player roster on July 13 that features four Olympians, two Olympic medalists and the four former Cornhuskers, per lovb.com. The franchise is led by an ownership group that includes Larson herself alongside JE Dunn Capital Partners, the investment arm of JE Dunn Construction Group, as majority owners, according to the Sports Business Journal.
As the KETV report first noted, the Devaney Center announcement keeps the spotlight on a program that has leaned heavily on its Husker roots to fill arenas statewide. With tickets set to go live next month and a full schedule still to come, Lincoln volleyball fans now have a date circled on the calendar — even if the finer details are still being finalized.
