Four people were shot late Saturday night on Parkway Place in Monroe, Georgia, after a call about a disturbance turned into gunfire from multiple shooters. Three of the wounded drove themselves to the hospital, while Walton County Emergency Services took the fourth there, and detectives are still working to piece together exactly what happened.
According to Atlanta News First, Monroe Police responded to a disturbing-the-peace complaint at a residence in the 300 block of Parkway Place. When officers arrived, they found that multiple shooters had opened fire, leaving four people wounded. Three victims got themselves to Piedmont Walton Hospital on their own, while the fourth was transported by Walton County Emergency Services, police told the outlet.
All four were taken to the same facility — Piedmont Walton Hospital. The Monroe facility was formerly known as Clearview Regional Medical Center before Piedmont Healthcare acquired it in March 2018, making it part of Piedmont’s hospital system, as reported by Rough Draft Atlanta.
Detectives Still Sorting Out What Sparked the Gunfire
Detectives are still working to determine the circumstances that led to the shooting and have not yet identified the suspects, per the same account from Atlanta News First. No arrests had been announced as of publication. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Jeremy Caldwell at 678-522-1236 or [email protected], the outlet reported.
The Monroe Police Department conducting the investigation is led by Chief R.V. Watts, who was named Best Law Enforcement Officer in Walton County for four straight years from 2021 through 2024, according to the Monroe Police Department. The agency operates out of a modernized headquarters at 140 Blaine Street that opened in 2021, which includes dedicated forensic processing space and expanded evidence storage — resources that could factor into how detectives process the Parkway Place scene. Walton County Sheriff Keith Brooks took office in January 2025, per the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.

It remains unclear whether the Parkway Place shooting is connected to a domestic dispute, as detectives have not released details about what prompted the initial disturbing-the-peace call.
For now, the investigation remains open, with detectives asking anyone with information to come forward as they work to identify the shooters and determine what set off the gunfire.
