St. Louis is waking up to a chilly 38-degree start Sunday, but the day will quickly turn into a classic fall rebound. Skies will stay clear, sunshine will dominate, and temperatures will climb to around 69 degrees by afternoon with no rain expected.
The National Weather Service says steam fog may briefly form along area waterways around sunrise as cold air meets warmer water. Any fog should fade after sunrise, while colder low-lying areas outside the city remain the likeliest spots for frost.
Sunny Stretch Builds Through Friday
The warmup continues Monday with a high near 71, followed by 75 degrees Tuesday and 77 Wednesday. Thursday and Friday are expected to reach around 80 degrees under sunny skies, a notably warmer finish to the workweek than Sunday’s brisk morning.
Nights will remain cool but manageable, with lows around 42 Sunday night, 43 Monday night and 46 Tuesday night. By Wednesday and Thursday nights, lows should settle near 50 degrees, making for comfortable evenings after the afternoon warmth.
The latest outlook is a calmer turn from the blustery setup earlier in the week covered by Hoodline. Saturday should stay mostly sunny with another high near 80, although a tiny rain chance returns to the forecast.
For the full local forecast, the National Weather Service expects dry conditions across the St. Louis area through the workweek, with no hazardous weather anticipated.
