Cloudy skies and morning showers are expected in Portland Friday. Showers may return later in the day, but the bigger shift arrives overnight, when fog and a frost risk settle in ahead of a mostly dry Halloween weekend.
Rain Returns Before A Chilly Night
Friday’s forecast calls for a high near 56 degrees, light southeast winds and a 50% chance of rain. The National Weather Service expects Friday to be similar to Thursday but slightly drier. Showers are expected to increase later in the morning before precipitation chances decrease by evening.
Friday night will be partly cloudy.
Frost Advisory Covers Saturday Morning
A Frost Advisory is in effect from midnight Friday night through 9 a.m. Saturday for portions of northwest Oregon and southwest Washington, including the Portland area. Frost is possible in interior valleys.
The updated alert is the main change from Hoodline’s earlier Halloween outlook. The immediate Portland forecast remains milder than some outlying valleys, but a cold, foggy start is likely for Saturday morning.
Halloween Looks Mostly Dry
Saturday should bring patchy fog before 1 p.m., mostly cloudy skies and a high near 54 degrees, with little chance of rain. That should leave Halloween plans largely dry, though costumes may need to contend with a damp chill early in the day.
Sunday should bring partly sunny skies and a high in the upper 50s. Monday and Tuesday stay mostly dry with highs around 57 and 59 degrees, while rain chances rise again Wednesday night into Thursday.
