Good Company Wings is packing up its fryers and leaving the Battery Park restaurant where it got its start, relocating to Cleveland's Little Italy neighborhood next month. The original location at 1200 W. 76th St. will serve its final chicken wing on Sunday, Oct. 25, before the brand reopens with a grand opening at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12, at 2175 Cornell Road.
The move, first reported by cleveland.com, comes down to bathrooms — or the lack thereof. Buildings and Food, the hospitality group behind Good Company Wings, says J Roc Development's new Naia Noir residential project will eliminate the space's bathrooms entirely, since the project requires a corridor to run straight through them. Buildings and Food CEO and founder Will Hollingsworth said the development made the current layout impossible to keep operating.
The new Little Italy spot takes over the former Wolfpack Chorus space and represents a significant upgrade in scope. According to the outlet's report, it will feature sit-down dining, a spacious bar and a sunny patio — a step up from the original's more casual setup. The restaurant will be open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., with brunch specials running from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays.
Same Wings, New Neighborhood
Diners won't have to relearn the menu. The Little Italy location will serve the same lineup found at the Cleveland and Akron restaurants, including the signature 72-hour wings alongside scratch-made burgers, sandwiches, salads, milkshakes and desserts. Those wings go through a multi-day process — marinated in dry spices for two days, braised on the third, then fried to order and tossed in house sauce or dry rub, per the same report. The in-house pastry team bakes the bread and makes the desserts from scratch as well.
Hollingsworth said Buildings and Food's first expansion across the Cuyahoga River had him excited, framing the Little Italy move as a milestone for the company rather than a retreat. The report notes Buildings and Food is also lining up a replacement location near the original Good Company Wings site in Battery Park, though no address or timeline has been announced. The company is additionally building a kitchen and bakehouse meant to bring Good Company Wings onto delivery apps, expanding its reach beyond its physical dining rooms.
Jobs and the Road Ahead
All Battery Park employees have been offered positions elsewhere in the company, including at the new Little Italy restaurant, and Good Company Wings is hiring for the new location. Open interviews are scheduled for noon to 4 p.m. on Oct. 21 at the new space, and applicants can also apply online at goodcompanywings.com/hiring.
Good Company Wings was founded by chef Brett Sawyer in 2019, and the Battery Park restaurant first opened its doors on Jan. 18, 2019. The brand joined Buildings and Food in late 2021 and expanded to Akron in 2024, where it continues to operate at 60 S. Maple St., open Thursdays through Tuesdays. The restaurant has also been featured on Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
A Bigger Pattern in Cleveland Dining
The closure fits into a bumpy stretch for Northeast Ohio's restaurant scene. About 400 restaurants, along with more cafes, breweries and other service-related businesses, closed across the region in 2025, even as nearly 600 new ones opened, according to News 5 Cleveland. Ohio Restaurant and Hospitality Alliance president and CEO John Barker said margins remain tight for everyone, especially smaller operations, and noted that convenience has become such a priority for consumers that carryout is likely a permanent fixture of most restaurant businesses now.
Industry watchers expressed cautious optimism heading into 2026, predicting the strongest operators would have a good year while still expecting continued attrition across the sector. Good Company Wings' relocation stands apart from that trend, since it stems from redevelopment rather than financial distress — but it still lands the brand in the middle of a turbulent year for area dining, following other high-profile closures like Melt Bar and Grilled's announcement on New Year's Day 2025 that it was shutting its last remaining location.
For now, Good Company Wings says the move keeps it rooted on Cleveland's West Side in spirit even as it crosses the Cuyahoga River into Little Italy. With a bigger dining room, a bar, a patio and Sunday brunch on the way, the brand is betting that its wing-making process and loyal following will carry over to the new address just as well as they did on West 76th Street.
