Realty Capital's multifamily arm has broken ground on Lofts at Lakeview, a 289-unit apartment complex in Granbury, Texas, located about 40 miles southwest of Fort Worth. The project will span four buildings with one-, two- and three-bedroom units, and it's slated for completion in early 2028.
According to REBusinessOnline, amenities planned for the complex include a pool, fitness center, resident clubhouse, coworking space, a sky lounge, and outdoor grilling and dining stations. Origin Bank is financing construction of the project, the outlet reports.
Lofts at Lakeview will sit within LakeView Landing, a mixed-use lakefront development that's been years in the making. The site, per the same report, will eventually include retail and restaurants, a lakefront public park, single-family homes, townhomes, additional apartments, and a hotel.
A Years-Long Vision Takes Shape on the Brazos
LakeView Landing sits at 300 East U.S. Highway 377, on the southeast corner where the Brazos River meets the highway, as CultureMap Fort Worth reported. The outlet describes the broader site as a 47-acre mixed-use community and park with significant waterfront frontage, though a separate account from eb5visainvestments.com puts the figure at 48 acres within a master-planned waterfront development on Lake Granbury — a discrepancy that has not been resolved in available reporting.
Planning for LakeView Landing dates back to early 2019, according to CultureMap's account, a timeline echoed by the Star-Telegram, which also traced the project's origins to 2019. The timeline for finishing construction has shifted since those early plans. A 2022 report from the Star-Telegram said work was expected to begin later that year with the full development finished by 2026, while CultureMap's more recent reporting states that construction has begun and is scheduled to wrap by 2028 — aligning with REBusinessOnline's early 2028 completion target specifically for the apartment portion.
Part of a Broader Multifamily Push in Texas
Granbury's new apartments join a wave of multifamily construction activity across the state. In the Houston suburb of Spring, Alliance Residential is underway on Broadstone Gosling Oaks, a 388-unit project on a 14.6-acre site, according to REBusinessOnline. Texas has also featured among a handful of states — alongside Utah and Virginia — where new apartment projects broke ground this past spring, per a report from Multifamily Dive.
For Granbury, a small city on the edge of the Fort Worth metro, the addition of nearly 300 units tied to a larger lakefront vision marks a notable bet on continued growth in Hood County. Whether the broader LakeView Landing development lands on its 2026 or 2028 timeline, the Lofts at Lakeview apartments are now moving forward with a firm target of early 2028.
