Atlanta woke Saturday, October 17, to clear skies and temperatures around 50 degrees, with a much cooler day ahead than the city had been serving up earlier this week. Sunshine will carry the metro area to about 67 degrees, but north winds near 15 mph will make the morning feel sharper; gusts could reach about 35 mph or higher in parts of north and northeast Georgia.
Rain is not expected in Atlanta, and the dry spell is set to continue. The National Weather Service says the broader region will remain mostly dry for the next seven days as cooler, drier air settles in behind the front.
Gusty Saturday Gives Way To A Crisp Night
Saturday night will be clear, with temperatures dropping to around 45 degrees and northeast winds between 5 and 15 mph. A Wind Advisory remains in effect through noon Saturday for portions of north and northeast Georgia, while a Frost Advisory covers parts of northeast Georgia early Sunday; neither alert applies to the Atlanta forecast zone itself.
Sunday will stay sunny but cool, topping out near 64 degrees before another clear night near 44. For anyone with outdoor plans, the practical forecast is straightforward: bright skies, dry ground and a jacket-worthy breeze, especially early and late in the day.
Sunny Stretch Builds Through Next Week
The latest forecast sharpens the weekend cooldown outlined in Hoodline's Friday forecast, then points toward a steady warmup. Monday should reach 68 degrees, Tuesday 73, and Wednesday and Thursday about 76, with Friday climbing to around 77 under sunny skies.
Overnight lows will remain chilly by Atlanta standards, mostly in the mid-40s to low 50s, but there is no meaningful rain in sight. In other words, fall has arrived for the weekend, but summer is already negotiating a return engagement next week.
