Atlanta is waking Wednesday under clear skies near 63 degrees, but the city is headed for another warm, rain-free afternoon with a high around 87. Patchy dense fog may linger in low-lying spots this morning before burning off around 10 a.m., giving way to bright sunshine.
Sunny, Warm Weather Holds Through Friday
Wednesday and Thursday will look nearly identical: sunny skies, light west winds, and highs near 87, with overnight lows in the low to mid-60s. The National Weather Service expects dry conditions to dominate the next seven days, so outdoor plans should face little weather interference beyond the midday heat. Friday stays sunny and warm near 84, with somewhat stronger west winds.
Cold Front Turns Weekend Crisp
A strong cold front arrives late Friday, sending northwest winds up to 15 to 20 mph Friday night and dropping temperatures to about 50 by Saturday morning. Rain is unlikely because the front will have little moisture to work with, though a stray shower or sprinkle cannot be ruled out in north Georgia.
Jackets Return Saturday
Saturday will be sunny but much cooler, with a high near 66 and north winds of 10 to 15 mph; Saturday night falls to around 48. Sunday stays sunny near 65, followed by a modest warmup to about 70 Monday and 74 Tuesday. No watches, warnings or advisories are in effect for the Atlanta forecast area, but the wardrobe forecast is clear: enjoy the last of the short sleeves, then keep a jacket handy.
