Saturday’s overnight shooting left two women hospitalized. One had life-threatening injuries; the other’s injuries were described as non-life-threatening.
Officers who responded to the reported shooting in the area of 114 Davison Street discovered the two female victims suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, according to WHDH. One victim was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the other was transported with what were considered non-life-threatening injuries. No arrests had been made as of the station's report, which it described as a developing story.
Latest in a String of Hyde Park Shootings
Saturday's shooting adds to a string of recent violence in the neighborhood. In early August, a shooting outside Little Haiti International Cuisine on Hyde Park Avenue left one person dead and four others injured; the homicide victim was later identified as 26-year-old Ky'Mani Korey Reynolds of Dorchester, according to The Boston Globe. In late September, Boston police said officers responded to a radio call for a person shot inside a business near 54 Walter Street in Hyde Park, an incident the department's Homicide Unit has said it is investigating as a fatal shooting, as reported by Boston Police Department.
It is not known whether Saturday's shooting on Davison Street is connected to either of those earlier incidents. Boston police have not released information on a suspect, motive, or weapon in the overnight shooting, and the current condition of either victim beyond the initial report has not been confirmed.
Mixed Signals on the City's Shooting Trends
Two citywide measures cited in separate reports showed lower counts than in the comparable periods a year earlier. A Boston Police Department crime overview listed two fatal shootings and 26 non-fatal shootings in 2026 year to date, down from six and 30, respectively, over the same period in 2025. The Boston Globe reported in early August that Boston had recorded 18 homicides so far in 2026, compared with 22 at the same point the previous year. These citywide figures provide context but do not, by themselves, show how Hyde Park’s trend compares with Boston overall.
What the shooting dashboard tracks
The available dashboard description does not establish whether Hyde Park shootings have risen or fallen over the past five years relative to Boston overall. According to Analyze Boston, the city’s Shootings dashboard covers incidents in which a victim was struck by a bullet, excludes self-inflicted and justifiable shootings, and includes data from 2015 onward with a seven-day rolling delay.
Boston police have not released further details on Saturday's shooting, and the investigation remains active. Anyone with information has not yet been directed to a specific tip line in connection with this incident.
