A Jordanian street food chain is set to open its first Texas restaurant in Richardson, bringing shawarma and fresh-baked pita to a location on Central Expressway. Nashmi is taking over the former Texadelphia space at 746 S. Central Expressway, Suite 100, with a company representative confirming the opening is coming soon, though no firm date has been set.
According to Community Impact, Nashmi specializes in shawarma and kebabs, with a photo caption describing the menu as Jordanian street food including shawarma, kebabs and sandwiches, alongside fresh-baked bread and fries. The restaurant lists its website as www.nashmi-usa.com, and this will mark its first Texas location. The Richardson storefront previously belonged to regional cheesesteak chain Texadelphia, which closed in fall 2025, according to Community Impact, with the building sitting inside the Richardson Restaurant Park development along US Highway 75.
Nashmi's First U.S. Location
Nashmi was co-founded by Ihsan Musleh and Abdallah Sallayma, who launched the concept's first U.S. location in Palos Hills, Illinois, in July 2025, according to Southwest Regional Publishing. The restaurant's menu includes beef and chicken shawarma wraps, kebabs and hummus.
The Richardson location is at a restaurant property at 746 S. Central Expressway.
