Three years ago, Anna Lillis's name ended up on an Aura flyer as a joke. On Friday, October 30, she'll step onto the KC Live stage at Power & Light to open for MEDUZA, the Grammy-nominated Italian electronic trio, during a Halloween weekend show that doors open for at 6 p.m. with music starting at 7 p.m.
Lillis, who performs under the name Alil, has DJed for three years while working as a corporate finance professional by day, according to FOX4KC. The October 30 show will be her fourth time playing Power & Light, following sets opening for progressive house duo Vicetone, direct support for Steve Aoki at Power and Light last summer, and an opening slot for Kyle Cook and two friends at the venue, the station reports.
MEDUZA headlines the night as a Grammy-nominated electronic music trio with nearly 20 billion cumulative streams, according to the official event listing from Kansas City Power & Light District. The Power & Light District's eat-and-drink page for KC Live notes that Anna Lillis, along with Anj.mp3 and Wntrs, will open the party. The venue itself spans two stories with 14 venues, a central stage, and a 40-foot customizable LED screen.
An Accidental DJ Career That Led to Greece
Per the FOX4KC report, Lillis has described herself as an accidental DJ, saying her name was put on an Aura flyer as a joke, which led to an opening set for Vicetone. Since then she's performed at Aura and In the Lowest Ferns in Kansas City and played internationally at venues abroad, the station notes.
That international travel is what connected her to MEDUZA in the first place. The same FOX4KC report states that Lillis saw MEDUZA perform live in Greece and met the group after the show in July 2026. About three weeks before the article published, she was asked to open for the trio at Power & Light.
“She felt blessed and grateful for the opportunity,” the station reported, describing her reaction to the booking. Lillis described her style as European dance music blending house, techno and big room, and said she expects her set to include dancing and a well-curated party for attendees, according to the same report.
Doors, Age Limits and Halloween Weekend Timing
The Power & Light District promoted the MEDUZA date as a kickoff to Halloween weekend, posting, “Kick off your halloweekend with MEDUZA!” on its KC Live page. Doors open at 6 p.m. and music begins at 7 p.m. on October 30, per the venue listing.
Admission is limited to guests 18 and older, while premium areas and drink packages require guests to be 21 and older, according to the Power & Light District event page. The district had also offered $40 off MEDUZA tickets purchased as a general-admission four-pack, with that promotion ending Sunday.
