Knoxville is starting Thursday in the mid-40s with patchy fog possible, then warming quickly under sunshine to a high near 75. Winds will stay calm and rain is not expected, making this a classic jacket-at-breakfast, sunglasses-by-lunch kind of day.
Patchy fog should fade before 9 a.m. Thursday, followed by mostly sunny skies through the afternoon. The National Weather Service forecast calls for mostly sunny skies Thursday. Lows should remain seasonally cool in the mid-40s through Thursday night.
Warmest Stretch Arrives Before Halloween
Friday looks like the warmest day in the near-term forecast, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 78. A light northeast breeze of up to 5 mph may develop, but it should do little to disrupt the mild conditions.
Saturday should stay dry for Halloween plans, although clouds will hang around and temperatures will reach about 75. Rain chances increase late Saturday night.
Sunday Brings A Small Shower Chance
The forecast turns cooler and more unsettled Sunday, with rain expected by early Sunday. The chance of rain is 60% during the day and 30% Sunday night, with a high near 68.
That is a lighter rain outlook than an earlier Hoodline forecast, which had pointed to a wetter Sunday. Monday should turn mostly sunny with a high near 73, giving Knoxville a brief return to mild fall weather.
Mild Weather Returns Next Week
Tuesday is forecast to be partly sunny with a high near 76, but shower chances rise again Tuesday night and Wednesday. Wednesday carries a 40% chance of showers, while temperatures remain mild near 75.
For now, Thursday and Friday offer the best sunshine, Saturday looks comfortable but cloudy for Halloween, and Sunday is the day to keep a backup plan handy. No watches, warnings or advisories are in effect.
