Jordan Creek Town Center has more than 110 retail and dining options and over 1.1 million square feet of retail space, according to its operator, GGP. The center opened in 2004.
Beyond the shopping center
The broader area has also seen plans for commercial development separate from the town center. In 2016, Business Record reported that R&R Realty Group planned to move its West Des Moines headquarters west across Jordan Creek Parkway to a separate $27 million, 180,000-square-foot office campus.
Kura Revolving Sushi Bar is set to open Oct. 22 at 101 Jordan Creek Pkwy. in West Des Moines, in the former Panera Bread space. The Des Moines Register reported the opening date based on hiring posts and said the restaurant had earlier been expected to open in late 2026 or early 2027. The Jordan Creek restaurant will be Kura’s first in Iowa, according to the Register.
Kura’s U.S. footprint
Kura Sushi USA operates 96 U.S. restaurants, with 11 more locations listed as coming soon, across 20 states and the District of Columbia, The Register reported. The company says it was established in 2008 as a U.S. subsidiary of Japan’s Kura Sushi, Inc. Kura Sushi USA reported $85.9 million in sales for its fiscal third quarter, which ended May 31, in results announced in July.
