Las Vegas is waking to clear skies and a summer-like 72 degrees Saturday, with the valley headed for a sunny high near 95. October's first weekend is bringing little relief from the heat, and the dry, mostly cloud-free pattern is expected to continue well into next week.
Sunny Saturday Leads Into A Hotter Sunday
Saturday afternoon should peak near 95 degrees under sunny skies, with northeast winds generally 0 to 5 mph. Sunday nudges up to 96, while overnight lows stay near 75, according to the National Weather Service.
Wednesday Could Be The Week's Hottest Day
Monday is forecast to reach 94, followed by 95 Tuesday, 98 Wednesday and 97 Thursday. Friday eases back to about 95, but every day remains dry with no measurable rain expected.
Light Winds, Very Dry Air
Winds should remain light overall, although they may pick up somewhat Sunday and Monday as a weak disturbance passes nearby; the chance of impactful gusts above 40 mph is less than 10 percent across the region. Afternoon humidity will run low, and the National Weather Service says heat risk should remain minor in most locations, while Death Valley and the Colorado River Valley could see higher heat risk.
For Las Vegas residents, the practical forecast is simple: mornings and evenings will be the easier windows for outdoor plans, while afternoon errands, hikes and yardwork will call for water, shade and breaks. The calendar says fall, but the thermometer is still making a strong case for summer.
