A coin-collecting business that started as a teenager's TikTok channel is about to take over a storefront in downtown Lebanon, Ohio. CoinHub will open its new location at 110 S. Broadway St. on October 31, moving into a space near Town Hall and expanding 3.75-fold from its previous footprint.
The relocation marks a turning point for a company that founder Blake Alma launched in January 2020 at age 19 as a TikTok channel focused on identifying modern U.S. coin mint errors, according to CoinHub. Before pivoting into numismatic education online, Alma had written and hosted outdoor radio and television programming as a teenager. The new Broadway Street space fills a storefront along downtown Lebanon's main commercial corridor, as reported by the Cincinnati Business Courier.
From Buying Office to Full Retail Showroom
CoinHub's original East Street location in Lebanon operated strictly as an item-buying office, with no retail purchases allowed on-site. The Broadway Street store changes that entirely, becoming the company's first full retail showroom supporting in-person buying, selling, and trading, per an openPR announcement. The business has surpassed $10 million in cumulative lifetime sales through this month, a dramatic climb from roughly $1.3 million recorded in early 2024, when Alma temporarily stepped back from daily operations to pursue a degree at Pensacola Christian College.
Alma returned full-time as CEO in summer 2025, and the company's growth since has been fueled by more than just the storefront. CoinHub's live auction presence on Whatnot and TikTok Live now extends to additional storefronts on eBay Live, PropertyRoom.com, and Walmart, the same openPR release notes, spreading the business across multiple digital sales channels rather than leaning on a single streaming app.
Grand Opening Set for Halloween
The October 31 grand opening will run from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. and include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, free food through a partnership with Cincinnati-based chain Skyline Chili, and trick-or-treat candy for children, according to the same openPR announcement. The timing on Halloween itself appears designed to pull foot traffic from both Cincinnati and Dayton suburbs into downtown Lebanon.
A mixed-use project called Golden Turtle Station is planned in downtown Lebanon, the Cincinnati Business Courier reported.
Whatnot, the live-shopping marketplace where CoinHub built much of its auction audience, raised $545 million in a funding round, per the Puget Sound Business Journal.
CoinHub's TikTok-born business model grew from a social-media following built on spotting coin mint errors into an operation with a physical home in downtown Lebanon.
The Lebanon-based CoinHub deals in physical coins and jewelry, and its new Broadway Street showroom adds an in-person location.
