Lil Baby is throwing another birthday party for the city that made him, and this time it comes with a Fresh Prince theme. The Atlanta rapper has announced his “Fresh Prince of Atlanta Birthday Celebration” concert at State Farm Arena for Dec. 5, continuing a holiday-season tradition he's built over the past several years.
Presale Opens Thursday With a Catch
According to WSB-TV, a presale for the show kicks off Thursday at 10 a.m., and fans hoping to get in early will need the promoter code ENCORE to access it. General ticket sales follow Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster, per the same report. The concert is officially listed by State Farm Arena as the Fresh Prince of Atlanta Birthday Celebration, though the venue page references past versions of the event.
As of the announcement, the identities of this year's supporting performers have not been revealed. The show is expected to include Lil Baby alongside additional performers whose names have yet to be announced, the station's report notes, continuing the surprise-lineup approach that has defined these shows for years.
A Birthday Tradition Years in the Making
This isn't new territory for the Atlanta artist, whose birthday falls on Dec. 3, according to 11Alive. The outlet reported that Lil Baby held similar birthday celebrations in December 2022 and 2021, and in 2023 the event landed at State Farm Arena on Dec. 27, with doors opening at 6 p.m. ahead of a 7 p.m. show. Just as with this year's announcement, 11Alive noted that guest artists for the 2023 show had not been revealed in advance, a pattern that has repeated itself across these annual celebrations.
Past editions have delivered some heavyweight surprises once the lineup actually hit the stage. Melodic Magazine reported that one sold-out State Farm Arena birthday show featured J. Cole, Quavo, Yung Miami and Lil Durk, with Gloss Up opening and DJ Key and DJ Fresh warming up the crowd beforehand. Complex reported that another Atlanta birthday concert brought out Sexyy Red for performances of “Bow Bow Bow (F My Baby Dad)” and “Get It Sexyy,” along with 21 Savage joining Lil Baby for “Red Rum” and additional guests including Lil Dann, Tay B, Hunxho, 4Batz and Rylo Rodriguez.
Not every planned appearance has gone off without a hitch, though. Complex also reported that Travis Scott and Future were expected to perform at one prior show but did not take the stage, for reasons that were not disclosed.
What Fans Can Expect Dec. 5
For now, the only confirmed details are the date, the venue and the ticketing windows laid out by WSB-TV. Fans eager to snag seats before they potentially sell out will want to have that ENCORE code ready Thursday morning, with the wider Ticketmaster sale opening to the public the following day. Whether this year's surprise guests follow the pattern of past celebrations remains to be seen once the arena doors open in December.
