Police Responded to Fire Station 14

Atlanta News First reported that officers responded to Atlanta Fire Rescue Station 14 at 1203 Lee Street SW, where they found the victim; investigators believe he had been shot at Shamrock Gardens.

The fire station has shown up in Atlanta police records before. On April 3, 2025, officers responded to Station 14 in reference to a person shot, according to the Atlanta Police Department. Investigators said at the time that officers located a 42-year-old woman with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest who was alert, conscious and breathing, and that the shooting had actually occurred at 1469 Campbellton Road SW before she drove herself to the station for help.

A Later Fatal Shooting

Less than two weeks after that incident, on April 16, 2025, a different man was involved in a fatal shooting, Atlanta News First reported in its earlier coverage.

Atlanta homicide investigators classified that April 2025 killing as a felon killed by a private citizen, according to the police department's own account. Warrants were issued for a suspect identified as Robert Carter on charges including felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of criminal attempt to commit armed robbery, the department said. The department also noted that its Aggravated Assault Unit continued investigating the circumstances of the earlier April 3 shooting.

No arrest, suspect, motive or weapon has been disclosed in connection with the shooting at Shamrock Gardens. The man's age, identity and medical condition beyond being alert, conscious and breathing have not been released. Police believe the shooting occurred at Shamrock Gardens, where the victim was shot before officers found him at Station 14.
