A man was shot on the 2900 block of North 11th Street in North Philadelphia on Sunday, October 11, 2026, and he's now listed in stable condition as investigators search for whoever pulled the trigger. Police responded to a report of the shooting and found the victim with gunshot wounds before officers took him to a hospital.
No arrests have been made in the case, and police have not released the victim's identity, according to NBC10 Philadelphia. The outlet reported that anyone with information is urged to contact Philadelphia police at 215-686-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip online. Residents can also text that same tip line, which carries standing city cash rewards of up to $20,000 for homicide cases and $500 for illegal gun possession, per city guidelines under Police Directive 8.13.
North 11th Street Shooting Investigation
The Sunday shooting comes amid other recent North Philadelphia gun violence incidents. Hoodline reported earlier this month on a double shooting on North Colorado Street that left one man critical, as well as a shooting on Ridge Drive that left a 40-year-old man critical after being shot in the chest, and a multi-victim shooting on Susquehanna Avenue.
The 2900 block of North 11th Street sits near a stretch of the corridor with its own history of violence. The nearby 2700 block of North 11th Street was the scene of a March 2022 shooting in which police found a 26-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside a residence, according to the historical record on file with CBS Philadelphia.
Clearance Rates Lag Even as Shootings Decline Citywide
The case fits a pattern that city data has documented repeatedly this year. Analysis published in July by the Philadelphia District Attorney's Transparency Analytics Lab found that most nonfatal shooting incidents fail to yield an arrest within a three-month tracking window, a dynamic that helps explain why no suspect has yet been taken into custody in Saturday's case. Nonfatal shooting investigations in the city are directed by the police department's specialized Shooting Investigation Group, which coordinates scene processing and tip intake before referring files to prosecutors.
That clearance gap persists even as Philadelphia's overall violent crime numbers continue to fall. Through October 8, the city had recorded 556 total shooting victims, 115 fatal and 441 nonfatal, a 27% decrease from the 765 victims recorded over the same period in 2025, according to City Controller data. Philadelphia Police Department figures through October 10 show 133 homicides citywide, a 22.2% drop from the 171 recorded by the same date last year.
Violence Still Concentrated in a Handful of Neighborhoods
Philadelphia continues to contend with gun violence in its neighborhoods.
For now, the man shot Sunday remains in stable condition, and investigators are still working to identify who fired the shots.
