McAllen police are searching for a 27-year-old man accused of stealing a pickup truck and breaking into three other vehicles, and they say he remains at large with a distinctive tattoo across the right side of his face. Officers have identified him as Carlos Alberto Morán, whose last known address is in McAllen.

The case began on October 19, when officers responded to a report of a missing white 2005 GMC Canyon in the 600 block of North McColl Road, according to ValleyCentral. The truck was later recovered, but as investigators worked the case, they discovered that three other vehicles had also been burglarized, per the same report.

Police identified Morán as the suspect in both the truck theft and the burglaries, and he is wanted on auto theft along with three counts of burglary of a vehicle. Separate reporting from Telemundo 40 states that a McAllen municipal judge found probable cause to issue arrest warrants, with Morán facing one vehicle-theft charge classified as a state-jail felony, along with three Class A misdemeanor charges for the vehicle burglaries.

What Morán Looks Like

Investigators describe Morán as standing about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing roughly 130 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He also has a large, distinctive tattoo on the right side of his face, a detail authorities are highlighting as they ask the public for help spotting him.

Anyone with information on Morán's whereabouts is asked to call McAllen Crime Stoppers at 956-687-8477. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the P3 Tips app, according to Telemundo 40's report.
