Luis Rodrigo Lema-Pomavilla was sentenced Tuesday to 12 to 13 years in state prison after pleading guilty to 49 felony counts involving the sexual assault of three children. He entered the plea Oct. 1 in Norfolk Superior Court, admitting to charges that included repeated rapes, child pornography offenses and extortion.

The plea covered 15 counts of posing or exhibiting a child performing sexual conduct, 14 counts of posing or exhibiting a child in a state of nudity, and 13 counts of rape and abuse of a child, according to Yahoo News. Several other charges were dismissed under the agreement, the outlet reported. The case originally involved 59 criminal charges across two Norfolk Superior Court dockets following his 2025 indictment and arraignment, according to the Medway Police Department.

Lema-Pomavilla was arrested in September 2024 after a Medway police investigation. Police said the case involved three victims.

Court Records Describe Alleged Assaults and Digital Evidence

Court documents, as reported by WCVB, allege that Lema-Pomavilla met one victim at a party, then drugged and raped her on multiple occasions. The documents say he threatened to distribute nude photos if she stopped seeing him; she became pregnant and gave birth to his child in 2024.

WCVB reported that an analysis of Lema-Pomavilla’s phones and cameras found photos and videos depicting assaults on that victim and two other teenage girls, ages 15 and 16. Police said the evidence supported guilty findings on all 49 felony counts.

Police Chief Says Plea Spared Child Victims From Testifying

Medway Police Chief William Kingsbury said the plea agreement secured convictions on all 49 felony charges without requiring the children to testify at trial, according to WCVB. Kingsbury said the victims’ well-being remained central to the resolution.

Support for Child Victims in Norfolk County

Norfolk Advocates for Children, the county’s Children’s Advocacy Center, says it coordinates responses to child abuse cases among law enforcement, medical professionals, mental health providers and advocates. The Norfolk District Attorney’s Office says victim-witness advocates are available in every court to support victims through the criminal justice process; its general description does not establish whether those services were used in this case.

The sentence followed Lema-Pomavilla’s Oct. 1 guilty plea in Norfolk Superior Court, concluding the case without a trial.
